The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held to felicitate the Students who followed the School’s motto ‘In Pursuit of Excellence “. The ceremony commenced by invoking God’s blessings, followed by the welcome address which opened with a quote by Theodore Roosevelt “ Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” Students scoring A1 in all scholastic subjects, devotion to duty, full attendance, and excellence in Co-scholastics received Certificates of Honour. Students scoring highest CGPA received a medal, a book & Certificate of Honour.

For all the prize winners it was a proud moment as they are a source of motivation for those who did not win any prizes. Hos congratulated the winners and encouraged more to be on stage next year. Vote of thanks was delivered followed by dispersal.

Meritorious students, Class Toppers, Annual Round Square Award, The Raving Readers’ Award, The Icon of the Class, Award for Good Conduct, Class Toppers, The Achievement Awards( 85% and above for one year and then 2- 5consecutive years ), IAYP(Bronze Medal), Improvement Award and the signing of the Honour’s Book were the highlights of the Day. A total of 322 students were felicitated in the ceremony. The parents, teachers and the student body encouraged the winners with a thunderous applause as they walked up to the stage to collect prizes for their respective areas of excellence

As the Ceremony drew to close, the Chief Guest was invited to express her views on the occasion. Ms Gomes, while addressing the students, appreciated and congratulated all the prize-winners for their achievement. She advised the students to listen to their hearts and dream big to make a positive change not only in their lives but also in the society they are living in. She also impressed upon the girls of VDJS the need to pursue a radical approach towards education by learning to connect with juniors, seniors, teachers and people outside. As the girls were proceeding for the summer vacations she asked them to make the Mother’s Day, which falls on 13th May, a special occasion for their mothers back home. Showing deep appreciation for the versatility of the girls she expressed her desire to keep coming back to school for more such occasions. The culmination of the Ceremony was marked by the vote of thanks to the guests and parents by the Head Girl followed by the School Song.
